The MED Technical Sales Management department is the technical support function unit accountable for the Technical Solutions selected in each project, which links MED Sales Business Unit and our customer needs towards the central Vestas Power Solutions organization, responsible for the global product development and product strategy in Vestas.

The Technical Project Development Specialist role is a highly diversified role that requires solid technical skills, a good commercial insight as well as high degree of assertiveness.
Main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Supervise the technical support to Business Development Team and take full accountability for the technical solution.
  • Coordinate the technical value engineering, define the best technical solution as well future product needs in collaboration with rest of the technical functions.
  • Coordinate the support of all Technical functions (Siting, Electrical and BoP) for Development and Co-Development Project Pipeline.
  • Support Business Development team on Technical Due Diligence, Risk Assessment and Technical Contract Reviews during project acquisitions and the different Development phases of the projects.
  • Build relationships with key technical team in the different stakeholders’ organization as Developers, final Customer, Independent Experts, Financial Technical Advisors or Regulatory Entities, to promote wind energy and Vestas products.
  • Understanding of the market, customer business cases and Business Development perspective.
  • Collect market requirements, track local rules, certification and legislation requirements, participate in working groups to define the right set of technical requirements to be considered by VPS (Vestas Power Solution) when defining the Vestas Product Strategy and Roadmap.
  • Provide data driven input into Product Management in support of new WTG design, future WTG technologies for project specific optimizations for development projects.
  • Support the preparation of internal tenders for subcontracting Technical services.
  • Technical presentations and support to Business Development in events, conferences or seminars.


  • Engineering background (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace) combined with a Commercial/ Business insight.
  • 3 to 5 years work experience in technical support role in Wind Industry or Energy sector Previous experience in directing technical negotiation, Business Development, Product Management, Power Plant environment would be beneficial.
  • Fluent in business English is more, both spoken and written. Additional languages as Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian or other European languages would be more.


  • Proved and solid technical insight on Wind Turbines, Power Plants and Renewables Industry is required.
  • Knowledge on storage and Hybrid. Drive to learn new technical information and apply that information to Vestas’ development business. Technical and commercial insight and ability to improve value through the renewable energy development process and working knowledge of development, permitting, and interconnection processes.
  • Solid communication skills and prior experience interacting with different internal and external stakeholders required. Solid negotiation skills. Previous experience in directing technical negotiation is expected. Good coordination ability, high degree of assertiveness and act as a team member. Ability to direct and coordinate a technical team of engineers and specialists and holistic understanding of the commercial and legal aspects of technical solutions.
  • Ability to think strategically to optimize the projects and company value during different phases of the project development. Motivated, organized and collaborative with proven experience working in hard-working and intensive environments. To be innovative and creative with a mindset towards the result and a high degree of motivation to satisfy customer needs. Ability to work freely with limited supervision Travel availability across the region based on customer needs and company goals
