About the position

We are currently looking for a National Account Manager to join our Retail Sales team in our Spain office, who will directly report to the National Key account Manager Sales Lead, managing national accounts.

As Account Manager at Upfield you will have an exciting opportunity to own your national customer plans and build strong customer relationships to grow our business. You will be accountable for developing and delivering a win-win customer strategy and customer business plan through the best integration of the Upfield strategy and your customer’s strategy in line with the business objectives set. You will aim to grow the business of the customer through our products to achieve our growth & profit business targets, and to grow our business ahead of the market.

In terms of responsibilities, you will establish and build great win-win relationships between Upfield and its retail customers. Securing profitable sales growth in a triple win mindset (consumer, retailer and Upfield) will be part of your scope as well. You will continuously follow up, evaluate, and optimize the business with your customers.

In this role, you will also demonstrate and apply our category and consumer understanding to our key customers. You will develop Joint-Business-Plans for your customers with the greatest growth potential and will work in cross-category teams with marketing, category management, supply chain and finance to drive business performance. As National Account Manager Retail, you will secure great launches and distribution buildup of new products. Finally, you will provide customers with an understanding of the entire business.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?

Having a degree in economics is an asset as well as a proven track record as account manager in a FMCG retail environment, preferably managing national accounts.

You’re ambitious and hands-on, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and a customer focused attitude combined with strong negotiating skills. You’re able to work both independently and as a team member.

In this role, you need to have a good understanding of business financials (P&L, value chain) and analytical skills. You also need to have great communication and presentation skills, and you need to be fluent in Spanish and English.
