Job Purpose

• Engineering Manager is responsible to establish and maintain management systems for ensuring engineering integrity of the relevant equipment and civil works and to ensure all professional engineering skills required are identified and available to the site.
• Engineering Manager also includes responsibilities such as Hazard Study Leader and Site Responsible Engineer (as defined in the HSE corporate standards)
  
  

Key Accountabilities

To manage the Engineering Department, within Safety and capital cost targets, so that plant and equipment is designed, constructed, installed and maintained according to business requirements and statutory regulations.

Manage capital works projects, within budget and in accordance with site HSE objectives and statutory regulations so that plant and equipment on site meets the needs of the business. Manage the site’s capital Expenditure Budget.

Maintenance/Facilities Engineering: Coordinates with Maintenance Supervisor plants to minimize production downtime. Coordinates the setting up and adjustment of new (industrial) equipment.

Coach and mentor direct staff and plant leadership to drive TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) process implementation across the plant.

Manufacturing Engineering: Responsible for engineering improvement projects. Provide engineering advice and determines probable costs for process. Performs a variety of engineering work to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations at company and local level.

HSE: Assist in achieving HSE performance goals in the plant. Participates in specific projects, collects and analyses data, coordinates audits at site-level and assembles all required documentation for investigation of incidents.

Ensure that all work undertaken by maintenance and engineering contractors is compliant within the site health safety and environment policy and guidelines to eliminate all injuries and accidents.

Requirements

University degree (technical degree such as Chemical Engineering)

5 years’ experience in a comparable position.

Experience on Corporate guidelines, Chemical Engineering Procedures.

Familiar with ISO 14001 and local regulations on HSE

Fluent in English

Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and SPC (Statistics Process Control) techniques.

Project management skills.

Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to coach problem-solving teams

Excellent communication skills, active listening

Results-oriented and autonomous.
