EFI is looking for an Inkjet Applications Engineer to join us at our Castellon, Spain base. This position will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that supports R&D for the product development of ink and industrial printing presses. The team is responsible for the design and building of various test fixtures to support ink development for different sites and is also involved in evaluating image/print quality and color analysis.

What You Will Do
  • Work in a hands-on laboratory environment, the ability to accurately determine image quality and functional performance and provide detailed analysis of results.
  • Support development and testing of new inkjet inks using in-house developed print systems.
  • Support testing and evaluation of printheads as they become available.
  • Use print systems to evaluate the print quality of printhead/ink combinations.
  • Utilize a host of different methods and tools required for the optimization and characterization of image quality.
  • Fully characterize systems including color, print quality, and drying.
  • Document results and assist a team of chemists and engineers to develop next-generation inks.
  • Develop in-house equipment and tests methods as needed, to fully characterize and validate industrial inkjet inks in a lab environment.
  • Work in a fast-paced R&D environment to support inkjet ink development.
This Role Might Be a Good Fit If You
  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field
  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years technical experience, mechanical or electrical
  • Have experience working within digital print environments, equipment, and software.
  • Have excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess proficiency in color management theory and practice (color management software and design software).
  • Are experienced with Adobe Creative Cloud suite including Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other relevant tools
  • Have experience working with various types of print electronics and implementing print electronics
  • Can adapt to a fast-changing environment and work well under pressure.
  • Can work cross functionally across a large organization with various engineering disciplines to set up new hardware/software systems.
  • Are a versatile and quick learner (new products and technologies)
  • Are Curious to learn (enjoy learning)
  • Are detail-oriented and well organized
