Machine Learning and Engineering ManagerWorking for a leading data analytics provider, within financial markets and now moving into new markets.We are looking for someone to take charge of our initiatives in creating and executing an information retrieval system that utilizes cutting-edge text embeddings, advanced ranking models generated through machine learning, and algorithms to enhance our cloud-based search system.Your primary responsibilities will involve overseeing and expanding a team of machine learning and information engineers, tasked with addressing intricate challenges in the field of information retrieval.The ideal candidate should possess the capability to effectively express and justify their ideas and strategies to diverse stakeholders, such as executives, product managers, and data analysts. The aptitude to navigate conflicting priorities and communicate persuasively with stakeholders is of utmost importance for success in this position.You will: Establish, mentor, and oversee a team of machine learning and search engineers who possess a product-oriented mindset, while adhering to the utmost standards of quality and delivery. Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to identify and prioritize opportunities that capitalize on machine learning and information retrieval techniques, in order to generate value for our users. Engage in research activities and maintain awareness of the latest advancements in machine learning, specifically those with practical applications in information retrieval. Define the strategy to integrate Machine Learning and Large Language Models into Search Systems to enhance user experience Build and improve processes for collecting, pre-processing, and labelling data Monitor and optimize model performance to ensure high accuracy and efficiency.You should have: 3+ years of experience in machine learning and information retrieval with a proven track record managing teams Strong understanding of MLOps and experience with deploying and monitoring machine learning models in production.
